USEFUL TIPS FOR YOUNG PARENTS.

01 CREATE NOISE  (MUSIC FOR KIDS) USING KITCHEN VESSELS

A set or 5 tumblers and a spoon is enough. (If kids are a little grown up, you may pour different amounts of water in each to create different pitches. Caution: Water on floor is very slippery).

02 PUNCTURE A BALLOON, FILL IT WITH WATER AND MAKE A TOY FOUNTAIN !

Get a few balloons of different sizes. Take one or two and prick it with a sharp needle. Carefully make only one or two holes. Then fix the mouth of the balloon in a water tap and fill it with enough water. Then screw the mouth and hold it tightly. Turn the balloon upside down.  EUREKA, A MINI FOUNTAIN IS READY! Go to the backyard or safe place and play writing on the wall with the water jet.

3 CLAY PLAY.

Get colourful clay bars from the shop. Take a wooden stool or bench to roll the clay. Start with creating easy models like snake, human face, lizard, table, chairs etc from it.
(If the clay falls down on the floor, it will gather hair and other dirt. So work only in a stool. After playing, sprinkle some water on the clay and carefully roll it into balls and keep it safe for next use.).

4 ICE CREAM STICK PATTERNS.

Buy ice cream sticks from shop. You can easily create shapes, alphabets and other designs and patterns on the floor with them.  (You may even break the tip or the burning chemicals of match sticks and throw them away and use the remaining part. (Caution:  Match sticks are always dangerous).

5 DOMINOS OR EMPTY MATCH BOXES.

You should get about 50 or 100 small boxes of same shape and size. You can easily make them stand erect on the floor or table next to one another. Arrange about 10 or 15 like this. Then if you push one box from one end, it will topple the entire row of boxes. REPEAT THIS. Try a crooked or zig zag row.

6. PLAYING CARDS

It can be used to make structures. If you place two playing cards in an "A" position it will stand on its own, if there is no wind to disturb it. Create one more " A" structure very near the first one. Then carefully place one single card linking the two  "A" structures. With patience you can extend the structure. You may also construct first floors and second floors.

7 PLAYING WITH MARBLES

Get marbles of different sizes. Just 2 or three wooden or plastic scales and about 40 ot 50 marbles can keep a kid engaged playing. At least there should be 10 marbles of same size. And like this 4 or 5 sets. (Caution : Glass marbles can be dangerous when thrown on TVs and items in the house. It may even injure us).

8 PVC PIPES AND BENDS.

Just get a length of PVC PIPE and about 8 or 9 PVC BENDS. Ask your shop keeper to cut it into equal sizes of four one foot bits and four half foot bits. Ensure the bend gets into the pipe and form a structure. You can create SQUARE or zig zag pattern from it very easily.

9 BLOWING SOAP BUBBLES.

Take a small cup. Pour half a spoon of shampoo, half a spoon of sugar and add 2 or 3 spoons of water to it and stir for sometime. Get a straw from a juice shop. Just dip it in the soloution and blow. It will create soap bubbles.  (CAUTION : DROPPED SOLUTION  ON THE FLOOR WILL MAKE IT VERY SLIPPERY. DONT PRESERVE USED SHAMPOO SOLUTION FOR NEXT USE).

10 SHADOW GAME FROM A CANDLE LIGHT.

Switch off all light in the night. Light a candle or better switch "ON" light from your mobile. Using one or two hands, you can create lot of images from the shadow that falls on the wall.

11 PAPER FAN OR OTHER PATTERNS

You can take a square paper, create 8 folds. Then, cut it in the diagonal folds and insert a stick in the centre and create a simple fan that rotates when moved. Use colour paper after you improve.

PLEASE NOTE :

INVEST YOUR TIME FOR YOUR KID'S BETTER FUTURE.

While playing with kids you should never be in a hurry, i.e. just do a demo to the kids and ask them to play on their own. On the contrary, you should sit with them and play. You should become a child yourself. You should patiently spend one or two hours daily for ten days or more. After a month or so, you may allow them to play on their own, if you consider it not dangerous.

USEFUL TIPS FOR YOUNG PARENTS.
TO PLAY WITH YOUR YOUNG KIDS

My Diary  for PUBLIC dated : August 15, 2017

As usual I went for walk between 8.30am and 9.30 am. I had to give a small amount to the cell phone shop, Kumeresan (name changed). Since the shop was open, I went and gave him the change. It was around 9.30am and there was no customer then. But his wife and two toddlers or young children below age 4 were there.

I was shocked to find both of them having a mobile phone in hand. They were operating or watching KIDS VIDEOs from the INTERNET.

Already two times I had told them, i.e., Mr and Mrs. Kumeresan, the kids parents, that it is VERY HARMFUL to allow kids below age 7 to use any electronic gadget like TV, COMPUTER or MOBILE.

But they carelessly told, "IT IS NOT POSSIBLE AT ALL. "  I felt very sorry that they are SPOILING their children's life. I also told them it is like ALCOHOL, very addictive and bad to the mind. Better get some other playthings that suit their age. I was wondering HOW TO EDUCATE SUCH PARENTS.

Kumaresan was my long time acquaintance. I wanted to do something to prevent this. Hence,  today I sat down and patiently narrated to the young mother, Mrs.Kumeresan, my PLAYING METHODS WITH MY KIDS, when they were young... (nostalgia !)

Here,  in the message above, I had shared with you, what I told them and WHAT I WANTED TO TELL THEM FURTHER BUT COULD NOT DO.
