.Tomorrow (SATURDAY) “Unnjal Uchchavam” or God in the swing at Kottai Mariamman Temple.

நாளை (சனிக்கிழமை) "ஊஞசல் உச்சவம்" அல்லது கோட்டை மாரியம்மன் கோயில் உள்ள கடவுள் ஊஞ்ல் ஆடுவார்.

The “Aadi” month festival was inaugurated on last month 23rd.

கடந்த மாதம் 23 ஆம் தேதி "ஆடி" மாதம் திருவிழா திறக்கப்பட்டது.

Following this lot of devotees visit the famous Kottai Mariamman Temple at Salem and say their prayers and seek the blessings of Amman.

இதனால் பக்தர்கள் பலர் சேலத்தில் உள்ள கோட்டை மாரியம்மன் கோயிலுக்கு வருகை தருகின்றனர். தங்கள் ஜெபங்களைக் கேட்டு அம்மனின் ஆசீர்வாதங்களை வேண்டி வருகின்றனர்.

Generally the devotees prepare “pongal” or rice
pudding and worship God.

பொதுவாக பக்தர்கள் தயார் "பொங்கல்" அல்லது அரிசி புட்டு  செய்து கடவுள் வழிபாடு செய்வார்கள்.

Girls who are not yet married pray to Amman to get an husband of their choice. They tie yellow (turmeric soaked) ropes on the post for their wish to get fulfilled.

இதுவரை திருமணம் செய்யாத பெண்கள் அம்மனுக்கு பிரார்த்தனை செய்கிறார்கள். தங்கள் விருப்பப்படி கணவன் பெற அவர்கள் மஞ்சள் கயிறுகளை அணிவார்கள்.

Ladies who have no children also pray to Amman to beget a child.

பிள்ளைகள் இல்லாத மகள்களும்
அம்மனுக்கு குழந்தை வேண்டி பிரார்த்தனை செய்கிறார்கள்.

Tomorrow 4.30am Amman Abisaegam will happen. Then at 9.00pm “Unnjal Uchchavam” or God in the swing is scheduled.

நாளை 4.30 மணிக்கு அம்மன் அபிசேகம் நடக்கும். பின்னர் 9.00 மணிக்கு "ஊஜ்ஜல் உச்சவம்" அல்லது கடவுள் ஊஞ்சலில் ஆடுவது திட்டமிடப்பட்டுள்ளது.

On August 5th, “Sakthi Azhaipu” is scheduled and for three days from August 7 to August 9, 2013 “urulu thandam” or rolling on the floor as an offering will happen.

ஆகஸ்ட் 5 ம் தேதி, "சக்தி அஜய்பூ" திட்டமிடப்பட்டுள்ளது. ஆகஸ்ட் 7 முதல் ஆகஸ்ட் 9, 2013 வரை "யூருளு தண்டம்" அல்லது தரையில்  உடலை உருட்டல் நடை பெறும்.

Following the “Aadi” Festival every night many cultural festivals have been arranged for public viewing.

ஒவ்வொரு ஆண்டும் பல கலாச்சார விழாக்களுக்கு "ஆடி" விழாவை ஒட்டி பொதுமக்கள் பார்வைக்கு ஏற்பாடு செய்யப்பட்டுள்ளது.
