From the morning I was eagerly waiting to go to the book release function of my physically challenged friend, AEKALAIVAN that evening.
காலையில் இருந்து நான் ஆவலுடன் காத்திருந்தேன் என் உடல் சவால் உடைய நண்பர் திரு. ஏகலைகவனின் புத்தக வெளியீட்டு விழாவிற்கு அந்த மாலை செல்ல.

Yesterday and today I had sent many SMS and whatsapp messages to friends and my learners (ADULT STUDENTS). I requested them to consider to contribute Rs.1,000 to Mr.AEKALAIVAN and get a full set of the 20 books on the dias from the director S P MUTHURAMAN.

I started at 4.15 pm from my house and reached the venue at 4.30 pm. AEKALAIVAN had asked me to come a bit early to sit at the entrance and collect the addresses of all the visitors.

Since there was already one person sitting with a note for that job, I went inside and sat. There were only very few people inside the hall.

He did not go to the stage but sat on the front row. Soon one by one persons started taking photos with him.

அவர் உடனே மேடையிற்கு போகவில்லை. முன் வரிசையில் உட்கார்ந்தார். விரைவில் ஒருவர் ஒருவராக அவருடன் புகைப்படங்கள் எடுக்க ஆரம்பித்தார்கள்.

I too took a snap with him. I introduced myself and told that I was an English Trainer. He chatted with me with genuine interest.

When I told about my English videos in YOUTUBE, he enquired how much money I earned via YOUTUBE. I said it was negligible.

YOUTUBE இல் என் ஆங்கில வீடியோக்களைப் பற்றி நான் சொன்னபோது, யூடியூப் மூலம் நான் எவ்வளவு பணம் சம்பாதித்தேன் என்று விசாரித்தார். அது மிகக் குறைவு என்று நான் சொன்னேன்.

A young lady was compering with very clear pronunciations in Tamil. She was assisted by another male GOPINATH. They both did it well.

ஒரு இளம் பெண் தமிழ் மொழியில் மிகவும் தெளிவான உச்சரிப்புகளுடன் பேசினார். மற்றொரு ஆண், கோபிநாத் அவருக்கு உதவினார். அவர்கள் இருவரும் நன்றாக செய்தார்கள்.

Writer LENA THAMIZHIL VANAN and other dignitaries decorated the stage. He also gave a lengthy speech. There were also a few physically challenged authors in the stage.

One military retired person, Mr.VENKATA BOOPATHY from Theni was given an award by the TRUST run by AEKALAIVAN.

He came in a wheelchair and said his body was paralysed below the hip due to an accident.

அவர் ஒரு சக்கர நாற்காலியில் வந்தார். அவரது உடல் விபத்து காரணமாக இடுப்புக்கு கீழே முடங்கிவிட்டது என்று கூறினார்.

And he said even today he had to face lot of humiliation in his bus travel to Salem from Theni.

இன்று கூட அவர் ‍தேனியில் இருந்து சேலம் வரும்போது தனது பஸ் பயணத்தில் அவமானத்தை சந்திக்க வேண்டியிருந்தது என்றார்.

He praised the organizer that this is the only stage in his life in which he came to the stage with his wheelchair.

அவர் தனது சக்கர நாற்காலியில் நேராக மேடையிற்கு வந்தது இதுதான் அவரது வாழ்க்கையில் முதல் முறை என்று அமைப்பாளளரை பாராட்டினார்.

He said due to his accident, his body has no control over his nature's calls (i.e like a child he has no control over URINATING and TOILET MOVEMENTS).

After all the previously booked persons paid and got their books sets, I too paid Rs.1,000 and got a set from Director S.P. MUTHURAMAN on the stage.

முன்பதிவு செய்யப்பட்ட நபர்கள் ஒவ்வெருவராக தங்கள் புத்தகங்கள் கட்டை மேடையில் பெற்றுக் ‍கொண்டனர். பிறகு நானும் ரூ.1,000 கொடுத்து, மேடையில் திரு.எஸ்.பி. முத்துராமன் அவர்களிடம் இருந்து ஒரு "செட்" பெற்றுக் ‍கொண்டேன்.

Of course, carrying the books bundle was a big problem for me. Luckily my sishya DEEPAK and his uncle Mr.Dhandapani had come to the function.

I gave the heavy books bundle to DEEPAK and asked him to take it home and return it to me at his convenience.

We also went outside and had coffee since I felt hungry. I was sorry to note that Mr.Dhandapani and Deepak had to forego their BUFFET DINNER at the venue because of me.

While waiting for my autorickshaw after the function, I met and chatted for a while with the lady comperer who was smiling throughout the programme.

விழாவுக்குப் பிறகு என் ஆட்டோவிற்கு காத்திருக்கும்போது, நிகழ்ச்சியை முழுவதும் சிரித்துக் கொண்டு தமிழில் அழகாக பேசிய பெண் காம்பியர் உடன் சிறிது நேரம் பேசினேன்.

I congratulated her for speaking well.

I told her that I had two daughters and faced many difficulties in educating my elder daughter. And now she is employed.

நான் இரண்டு மகள்களைக் கொண்டிருந்தேன். என் மூத்த மகளுக்கு கல்வியில் பல கஷ்டங்களை எதிர்கொண்டேன் என்று அவளிடம் சொன்னேன். இப்போது அவள் படித்து முடித்து வேலையில் உள்ளாள் என்று கூறினேன்.

I came back home in my regular autoricksaw owned by Sankar and had my favourite dinner, WHEAT DOSA. Then typed this matter (first draft) before going to bed.
